Accountant / Controller
Job Description
FUNCTION
Apply Principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Note: Other duties may be assigned)

- Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions
- Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures
- Manage and oversee the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable department
- Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices and other accounting documents.
- Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff vendors and clients
- Resolve accounting discrepancies
- Recommend, develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems
- Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company’s automated financial systems
- Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA Preferred but not mandatory
- 3+ years experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Strong PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office
- Ability to work with various levels and functional groups
- Strong team player
- Proven problem solving and strong analytical skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
- Flexible, adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast paced office environment
- Fluent in Quickbooks reporting
- A solid understanding of Ohio Business Taxes.
